July 4th

Posted by Unknown at 3:57 PM 0 comments
My sister and her friend swimming.
I had pictures from July 4th, but they got lost somewhere - seriously. I'll post them up later though, even if we didn't do very much. We missed the fireworks and spent the night at an Indian restaurant so any pictures I do post would be of food.

Nepal is getting ever closer and I'm really excited. I went to one of my friends birthday parties yesterday, and that went well too. We hung out, played charades, mafia, and ate a lot of food. I miss hanging out with them, I'll admit I've been a little distant recently - and as much as I value "solidarity", it's probably isn't good, huh? When I got back my sister and her friend were having a sleepover.

My dad also told us that were planning to go to Michigan right when I get back from Nepal, so that might happen. I mean, I'm excited and everything, and I'm super psyched about getting to see UChicago, but I'm gonna most likely miss the Mortal Instruments Premiere with my friends, so that's gonna suck.

I leave for the DYW competition on the 19th, so that's kind of nerve racking as well. I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to handle the dance section - I can't dance AL ALL. I have no idea. how I'm going to handle it. But it's gonna happen, so I guess I better prep for it.

What else... I have a gazillion books I need to read. I still have to write that DYW essay. I just reorganized my room. I need to study that Nepal handbook. And I need to apply for those scholarships.

Working on my essay.
Oh! And the AP scores came out today - but I'm not checking on those, they'll just be depressing. But other than that, I'm really going to try and post up more pictures - fo'sho.
And if your an adult when you read this, I'm sorry for the crap grammar and choppy sentences. It's a blog though, so what can I say. Just enjoy it while I try to get my point across, yeah?

I'll make a few other posts later about my journals and room and schedules and stuff, but I'm gonna finish working on my essay that I stopped working on to post this.

HSMT Youth Leadership Summit

So I got back from the conference last weekend. It was a lot of fun - we got to stay at the Hyatt Anaheim Hotel, go to workshops, and meet a whole bunch of people. I won't deny that it was a conference, and conferences are exactly how they sound - cooonnnnffffeeeerrreeennncccceee.

They're never particularly fun and it probably won't change my life, but I really enjoyed it. I have two more weeks of freedom before I'm on the road for like a month long.

This summer is going to be long.

Summer Starts

Thank god it's summer. Junior Year is OVER.

Finally.

I'm gonna miss this last year's seniors - I really am. They were awesome, the whole shebang. But, I'm honestly just glad we call all move one with our lives. I got out of school a week or two ago and I don't miss it one bit. I just sort of want high school to be over and leave to college - a nice one too. I want to go on adventures, do everything, experience it all.

I'm finally a senior and this will be a blog of little solemnity. I want to be able to look back on this year and remember everything because this is an obvious turning point in my life - and I want to remember all of it.

So here to you future self. I hope you're doing something awesome.
